Dad Will Like A Nice Men’s Watch
Remember when people would go to work for a company out of college and stay with the same company for 30 years? It really wasn’t that long ago but it doesn’t happen anymore. I think I read that people change jobs an average of seven times during their careers.
Well, my father has managed to stay with his company for 35 years and now he’s coming up on retirement. His company will be presenting him with the obligatory gold men’s watch. I don’t mean to diminish the importance of that because I know he’ll treasure it. But it really seems so trivial when you think about 35 years of loyal service.
