If Abusive Drinking is a Toxin Why Drink Excessively?
Do junior high and senior high school students really think about alcoholism and how they can avoid this devastating disease? Aren’t there enough alcoholism horror stories to persuade young people to avoid this disease as much as possible? Let us use an example to illustrate my point. Let us say that there is a poisonous mushroom that will kill an average person within ten minutes if it is eaten. But if a lab dilutes the poisonous effect of the mushroom by 10,000 percent, this particular mushroom is good for a person’s complexion. Knowing that this mushroom has to be extensively “watered down” before it can be eaten, how many young people do you know who would run to the woods and eat a very small piece of this mushroom? The point: if excessive drinking is a toxin to the body, why drink in excess?
