I have been playing the drums for almost fifteen years now, and I have never broken through a head.  That was true until last nights show.  We were playing at a club in Covington, Kentucky called The Mad Hatter.  The place was electrified, and I was going nuts.  I hadn’t changed my snare head in a while, and I ended up busting through on the last song.  I had to find a place that I know would sell musical instruments to see if they had any drum heads.  We searched all night, and we finally found a place before having to head back to the bus.

Musical Prowess can be defined as “a superior skill that you can learn by study and practice and observation”. Though some may always be more capable than others in music. There is always a chance that we can develop and provoke our musical prowess inside us. I think there is just a need for some intense and really provoking stimulation that will ignite the inner energy and tap into the right brain and awaken the musical prowess inside us. If you are trying to learn the violin, you want it to learn so bad but find yourself having a really hard time to do it, immediately top, just sit back, calm your mind. Think of something that will sort out the problem. Say you can always go to a musical recital where you will get some idea on how people do it and go home inspired.

The world is shrinking and I am benefiting from the shrinkage.  When my dad was learning to play his guitar he could only come in contact with the people in the city where he lived.  Occasionally he would be able to see outside guitarists but could only have discussions on the local front.  I have access to guitar forums now that are on an international basis.  On any given evening I can be exchanging ideas with a guitarist in Australia,  South Africa, and England.  There is no limit to the number of people or the locations of people that are available to share with.

Last night I saw: Bob O’Shack (he was on Oprah), Christ Hardwick (Singled Out anybody? he looks cuter than EVER), and some other really cute guy named Rob Something. I am totally going to be there ever week. The show is totaly free, and you can get a burger for $5 and a beer for $3. There’s not an two item minimum or anything stupid so even my friend, Kiersten, who doesn’t have a job, felt fine about just order sweet potatoe fries ($3) and a latte. We got to see famous people (one of the girls who was in the James Bond Movie (Royale) was there and a month ago my friend saw that hot actor guy from Entourage!), hangout in Beverly Hills, and see comedians that have been on Comedy Central for under $20 including tax, tip, and parking is FREE!

This has really got me thinking about my own girlfriend and how conservative she is. I guess we are not really all that compatible after all. She is just too uptight for me. I was in front of this line where this girl had so many ear piercings. I mean it was kind of distracting actually. I have to say that I did not find it all unattractive. In fact I was actually curious as to what else this girl did to get attention. One has to wonder. I mean if she is willing to go to extreme lengths and have her entire ears pierced then what else is she willing to do? How adventurous is she really?

My brother has always given himself to our church. My family is LDS and my brother is going on a mission for the church in a few weeks. I went on a mission myself. I ended up going to New Zealand. My brother has never even been out of the area and now he was headed to South America. In light of this I decided to get him a travel guide to help him with the transition. The name of the guide was lonely planet south america. I gave heard of the publisher before and have always heard good things about this company through the years.

My daughter was planning her wedding and had asked me for some advise. She had her cake, her dress, her ceremony and reception planned but couldn’t find a photographer that fit what she was looking for. I had recommended that she try finding a Wedding Photographer in Minneapolis. After doing a lot of research online, she was able to find a photographer that fit the description. My daughter had developed a great relationship with the photographer. They had visited several different areas that they wanted to have the pictures taken. Some areas were for just her and her husband, other areas were for the entire family. In the end, the pictures were beautiful with each setting chosen.
