Responsible spending and the benefits of a credit card reward program
The other day I was looking over my credit card statements. The interest I am paying on my balances is money I would much rather have in my pocket. This year I am setting some new personal spending targets. This will allow me to pay off my card balances to avoid being slugged by interest costs. I also plan to join a Credit Card Reward Program. My existing provider has this option but I have not yet enrolled. I figure that if I pay my balances off early and accumulate rewards points that I can offset my purchase costs by redeeming the points for cash or gift rewards. Since I have been loyal to this company fir many years I might as well get rewarded for my loyalty.
